Atlas Fallen has a free update, out now

Filed under News & Atlas Fallen

I can't speak to the amount of things changed between the old & new with this overhaul update, but I've gotta say.. So far, this game is ticking the right boxes for me.

When Atlas Fallen was released nearly a year ago, I took a pass on it. After all, we had Baldur's Gate 3 to play (and curse at for the number of fucking times I had to re-load that damned fucking group underdark fight with the dwarves)! Starfield was next month, too, and I was still writing for Ghost Gamer News, which meant spending time on games without some form of stealth/sniping mechanics just wasn't going to be in the cards.

Reviews came out, and most gave it a fair-to-middling score as I recall. It was a solid AA game, but nothing exciting for them. They could've just coasted on that, but apparently that wasn't an option for Deck13 (the developers).

Of course, now I'm free to waste my time prodigiously on whatever game I damned well please.. Which is good, because I'm sufficiently bored with most of the games in my library lately as I wait for.. checks watch.. Star Wars Outlaws to come out at the end of the month.

(no, I won't be fucking playing Black Myth: Wukong, despite it looking amazing.. Mostly because the controversy with the devs makes me incredibly uncomfortable, and the game is hardcore attracting the anti-woke crowd, too)

So, yesterday I re-watched a review of Atlas Fallen, and thought I'd pick it up.

I also saw that there was free DLC (the aforementioned overhaul update) for the game that'd be releasing 15 hours after I bought it, so I figured I'd just wait to actually play (and ended up spending that time getting this happy little tree in the corner of the internet fucking planted) until tonight.

After I finished my adulting, and had my daily soak in the tub to ease the hellfire in my bones, I fired up it up ended up having a blast.

I haven't decided if I'll do a real review of it yet, but so far, the game is proving to be a nice AA distraction.
