STALKER 2 will be out in about 3 hours as of publishing this.. And unfortunately, I won't even be able to play it for about 8 hours after it releases because I'm too busy doing things like work, trying to find relief to my daily fuckery of pain, and making morale patches while I get insanely nauseous thinking about Trump's latest cabinet appointments.
Anyway, one game that I frequently find myself coming back to - despite it being in early access - is SurrounDead.
SurrounDead is a 1-dev indie survival-lite game, and it is incredible. I seriously have a blast playing it, even starting over from the beginning when I come back after months away.
The survival mechanics are fairly light-weight; You need to eat, drink, manage radiation, and if you break a bone or start bleeding, you'll need to treat that quickly. You can craft a variety of things, find weapons, and raid locations for supplies and more. There are other survivors out there, too; some are friendly, but others are.. Not. Bandits, PMCs and the undead can all give you a Very Bad Day (TM) if you're not careful.
A long time ago some folks accused it of just being an asset flip, but let me assure you: It most certainly isn't. It is a legitimate game that I find joy in playing, and have enjoyed it for a long time now.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to start that whole "day job" thing in about 5 minutes while my mind tries to will the clock forward to the time where I can finally play STALKER 2.
